WELL KNOWN WOMAN DIES AT SHELBINA
Shelbina, Mo., Jan. 22.—Mrs. Willie C. Blackburn, 86, well known Shelbina woman, died Thursday in her home here.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Shelbina Methodist church. The service will be in charge of her son-in-law. Dr. C. A. Ransford, assisted by the Rev. C. S. Peacock, pastor of the Shelbina Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. L. C. Maggret, a Methodist minister, and burial will be in the cemetery here.
Mrs. Blackburn was born July 21, 1856 in the Deer Creek vicinity in Monroe county, a daughter of Samuel H. and Mary Frances Cox. She was married December 11, 1877, to William Conrad Blackburn. She was the mother of seven children. A son, Joseph A. Blackburn, died in 1934 and two children died when quite young. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Charles Ransford of Shelbina, Murl C. Blackburn of Lakenan, Roy C. [sic] Blackburn, night marshal at Shelbina, and William Henry Blackburn of Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
