William Baughman

Family Rememerance of William Baughman

"William was married twice. He married first in Franklin County to Elizabeth Willard, 21 May 1840. Her tombstone reads 'Elizabeth, Wife of Wm. Baughman, Died Sept. 12, 1851 Aged 40 years.' To the immediate left of her stone is located a very short stone which reads 'Henry R. (B?) Son of W&E Baughman Died June 18, 1853.' These graves are in Riverside Cemetery, Franklin County, Ohio. William married second Mary Ann Saruse (LaRue?) in Auglaize County, Ohio, 31 July 1863. They later lived in Hardin County, Ohio, Roundhead Twp. on a farm of 100 acres 'just down the road' from his brother, David. They raised a family in Roundhead Township. William died 18 Sept. 1874 and is buried in St. Johns Cemetery two rows behind his parents. His second wife, Mary, d. 21 February 1879, in Hardin County also, and is buried beside him."
