William Bell [Convict "Scarborough" 1788]

William BELL was born c1760 Warwickshire, England

William was convicted of assault and highway robbery and was sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on 26/1/1788 on "Scarborough"

William married Ann GRINSLETT on 10/10/1791 at Sydney and they had the following children

• Ann 29/3/1792 died young
• Ann 28/12/1795
• William 28/4/1799
• John 20/2/1801
• Thomas 25/12/1803

William and Ann were sent to Norfolk Island in 17/11/1791 on "Atlantic" William returned to Sydney alone on 9/3/1793 on "Kitty". Ann and daughter Ann joined him on "Francis" in March 1794

William returned to Norfolk Island 1797 and returned to Sydney

William, Ann + 3 children went to Norfolk Island on "Porpoise" in January 1801 and returned to Sydney on "Union" in March 1805

William, Ann and children left the colony in 1810 on "Hindostan" bound for England
