My grandfather, William, died from the world wide influenza (flu) epidemic of 1918-1919. That flu killed more people than the world war. The world war helped spread it.That is why there is so much concern about the bird flu and other flus going around. His death left his widow with six children. My mother, Loretta,r was the oldest at 12 years old. |
