Notes per Bev Long Oct 2014:
"Two brothers, James and William Boulware, came to the colony of Virginia, almost certainly from England, around 1662. These two brothers bought a 783 acre tract of land in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. (subsequently became Essex County, Virginia in 1692) on December 29, 1666. This purchase would indicate that the brothers were fairly prosperous and it is safe to assume that they, like most colonial landholders, were tobacco planters. They subsequently divided their land on December 19, 1674.
