Immigrated to America (Boston, Mass.) from England in 1632, arriving on the ship "Lyon", which also carried Henry Adams and family (ancestors of U.S. President John Adams).

This William in C.G. 1903 edition, is incorrectly said to be the brother of John (b. Sept 15, 1577), who married Elizabeth Hutchins (the Widow Elizabeth). However Mr. Charles Arthur Hoppin in C.G.1953 proves through the will of William Curtis (b.July 9, 1585, and wife of Agnes), and says "Thus, this William Curtis was the nephew of John Curtis, the younger son of the above testator, William Curtis, who died in 1585".

Sailed with his family from London 22 June 1632 on the 'Lion' and arrived Boston 16 Sep. 1632. There were 123 passengers, 50 were children. "These persons were all of the better class, were well educated and possessed a certain degree of wealth that enabled them to live in the enjoyment of comforts".

He brought four children, Mary (bapt.1620) Thomas (bapt.1622) John (bapt. 17 July 1629) and Philip (bapt. 1632) and his eldest son William (b. 1619). This eldest son William was a hopeful scholar but died late in 1634 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.
