It is stated in the Journals of the House of Burgesses: William petitioned the British government for a pension for wounds received in one of the Indian wars. William was awarded 10.00 pounds for himself, his wife, and 3 children.


GEDCOM Note

In 1757 William petitioned the British Government for a pension from wounds received while fighting in one of the indian wars. He was awarded 10 pounds per year for himself, his wife and three small children... 23 April 1757

We also find land grants between the Crown and William in 1763,1767 and 1773. This last indenture names him as William Darling Sr. So we know he had a son "William".
