About William Dring [Convict "Alexander" 1788]
William Dring was caught stealing a quantity of clothing and six bottles of brandy, the property of Joseph Mitchinson. He was tried at the Quarter Sessions at Kingston on Hull, in 1784. He was found guilty and sentenced to seven (7) years transportation. He was sent aboard the "Alexander" in 1787, and sailed with the First Fleet on the 13 May, 1787. William DRING was born 28/12/1767 (son of William DRING and Elizabeth HARRIS)
William was convicted of theft and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Alexander"
In October 1788 William was sent to Norfolk Island.
William married Ann FORBES on 5/11/1791 at Norfolk Island and they had the following children
