PROBABLE DEATH MATCH at QLD BDM: 1884 C3019 William Sherwood son of Robert Sherwood and Charlotte Dunn. As mother's surname matches not first name certificate may need to be ordered.
William Sherwood arrived in Port Jackson, NSW on the "Premier" 2 July 1840.
His father Robert , son of a farmer, was a Cotton Weaver and of the Protestant religion.
Robert (39), his wife Bridget (35), and children Alice (25), WIlliam (19), Emily (17), Robert (16), Nelson (14), Joseph (10), Emily (6), and Margaret (4).
They were "Bounty Immigrants" to New South Wales from Monasterevan, Co. Kildare, Ireland.
William is described as a 19yo single man, a Farm Labourer by Trade, of the Protestant religion and he could read and write. He received £18 bounty.
There is a possible death certificate at Qld BDM: 1884/C3019 William Sherwood Robert Sherwood Charlotte Dunn ["our" William's mother's name was Bridget Dunn]
