Fowlkes" (1722-1799) & "Sarah Jennings Fowlkes" (1730-1782). _______________________ BILL's FATHER, "John A. Fowlkes", was born in 1722 @ Hanover Co., VA. He died in 1799 @ 77 @ Nottoway Co., VA.

His parents were: "Gabriel Fowlkes I & Elizabeth Fowlkes".

"John's plantation was called ‘Hyde Park'; it had sheltered five generations of Fowlkes, one of the few to survive The Civil War." * _______________________ BILL's MOTHER, "Sarah Jennings", was born in 1730 @ Hanover Co., VA. She was one of 10 Children. She died in 1782 @ Nottoway Co., VA.

Her Father was: "Col. William Henry Jennings" (1676-1775) who was born in England. He was the youngest son of 'Humphrey & Mary Milward Jennens' & was a British officer who came to Virginia to assist in the fight against the Indians.

Her Mother was: "Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam Jennings" (1704-1774) who was born @ Hanover Co., VA to 'James & Mary Pulliam'.

"Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam" was thought to have "perhaps" been Col. William Henry Jennings' 2nd. wife because of the 28-year-age-difference between them. They married on 1-24-1724 @ Hanover Co., VA. _______________________ JOHN A. FOWLKES & SARAH JENNINGS FOWLKES MARRIED in 1743 @ Hanover Co., VA & had 10 Children of which BILL is the fifth child.

I'm attaching photos of the "Fowlkes' Family Home" which was called "Old Field" in Bill's lifetime . In the mid-1800's, it was renamed "Hyde Park". This is where BILL FOWLKES lived with his parents & siblings on the tobacco plantation.
