After Elna's husband died in Sweden she moved to the United States. According to the above reference she came on the railroad but on the voyage over the Ocean she got very ill and so did her daughters. This was when William's father Charles came in to help. He was also going to Malad, Idaho. Williams father, Charles Jenson or Berlin's folks were located there. (Page 13). She accepted a proposal of marriage from Charles Jenson before she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she was married in 1873. It seems her daughters did not want their mother to marry again, when they were as old as they were and it was strife all the way until they separated. They separated when Willie was 2 years old.
