William Medina

William Medina passed away at the age of 74 on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in Woodland. William was born in Lindsey on Feb. 18, 1936, to Lucas and Carmen Medina. He was raised in Woodland after the family moved there in 1938. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1956 and attended the Oakland School for the Blind in 1957. He was employed by the Woodland Clinic Department of Radiology for 40 years and retired in 2005.
William is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shannon Klamut Medina; daughter, Camille Flowers and husband Andy; grandchildren, Lilly, Grace and William Flowers; sister, Josie Diaz; and brother, Sam Medina; and sister-in-law, Irene Medina. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lupe Lavorico, Virginia Lavorico, Linda Espinosa, Orty Nusz, and Olivia Fletes; and brothers, Henry, George, Billy, Gilbert and Philip Medina. He will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A rosary will be held 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 860 West St., Woodland. A reception to follow at Elks Lodge, 500 Bush St., Woodland. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's name may be made to Woodland Healthcare Foundation or Holy Rosary Building Fund.
