Biographical Summary

"William Moncrieff, eldest son of George M., min. of Arngask; educated at Univ. of St Andrews; M.A. (25th July 1663); adm. before 7th Oct. 1685; died non compos mentis 4th Sept. 1711, aged about 68. He marr. (1) his cousin, Nicolas, second daugh. of Archibald Moncrieff, min. of Abernethy, and had issue - Archibald, min. of Blackford; David, physician; Mary (marr. Andrew Ure, min. of Fossoway); (2) Euphemia (died at Edinburgh 1715), daugh. of John Alexander, procurator-fiscal of the Commissariot of At Andrews and widow of John Corstorphine, third son of John C. of Nydie."
