16 January 1463-64: Charter by which James III, King of Scots, confirms that he has given various lands to William Douglas of Cluny, including the lands of Trakware and Lethanehope in the sheriffdom of Peebles, which were in the king's hands because of the forfeiture of the deceased William of Moravia. RMS: 775

28 May 1469: Charter by King James in favour of Robert, Lord Boyd, Chamberlain of Scotland, of the lands of Traquaire, in the Shire of Peebles, on resignation by the late William Douglas, 'Our Guardian', and William of Moray. 3 February 1478-79: Charter by which James III, King of Scots, confirms that he has given the lands and barony of Trakware, together with annualrents from the lands of Quyltheth and Grebistoun, all in the sheriffdom of Peebles, to his uncle, James, earl of Buchan. These lands were in the king's hands because of the forfeiture of the deceased William Murray. RMS: 1418

Notes: William's father is also not known but William was possibly a grandson of Alexander MURAVIA [MURRAY] who was mentioned in a 15 July 1383 Charter of Resignation of the lands of Cranstoun Riddell in the Sheriffdom of Edinburgh.William MURRAY was in possession of Traquair (and the lands of Cranston Riddell). There is documentation that he forfeited those lands before 1464. William MURRAY of Traquair died sometime between 06 April 1466 and 13 October of 1466. Known children of William MURRAY of Traquair: 1. He had a natural son who was acknowledged on 06 April 1466, but not named. 2. Alexander MURRAY.
