William S Newman (1824-1855) was a son of John Newman & Leah Scholl.
Husband of Rhoda Jane Tincher (1825-1905). Parents of 5 children.
"William was on a raft taking logs to Frankfort when he died of a fever and was buried on the riverbank somewhere above Boonesborough.
In the early 1990s I was driving down I-75 near Lexington, KY when there was a news item on the radio about someone finding a body in a grave upstream of Boonesboro and it was thought to be a recent murder victim; however, it was determined to be a very old but well preserved body from pioneer times.
I wonder if this could have been William although I suppose many unknown people are buried along the river."
