Brooks, REgent, placed a stone to markthe grave of William Ogletree Revolutionary Soldier buried nearGoggans, Monroe County, Ga., page 881, Vol 2, Georgia Land Marks,Meorials and Legends., Carnegie Library, Atlanta, Georgia. The markedinscribed: "William Ogletree, Revolutionary Soldier, born January 18,1765; died July 29, 1835, was a sone of John and Piety Ogletree. Hemarried Mary Bird, daughter of Philemon and Mary (Lee) Bird, of WilkesCounty, Georgia in 1785.
