William Orcutt IV, born in or near Bridgewater, Massachusetts, perhaps on August 13, 1695, He was married to Sarah Leonard on February 27, 1720/21 in Bridgewater.They had one son in Bridgewater, went to Stafford, Connecticut about 1724, and had 9 more children there.William was probably one of the proprietors of Stafford.He died on February 7, 1776, in Willington, Connecticut where his children James, Sarah, and Lemuel were living.

- Lemuel Orcutt, b. August 26, 1735.
- Sarah Orcutt, b. November 7, 1740.
- Jane Orcutt, b. July 26, 1743.
Note: Some sources list William IV as the son of William Orcutt (Son of William Awcotte and brother to Andrew Orcutt) and Jane Washburn. I can not find that this William had a son named WiIliam by any of his three wives Searching for further documentation. It was mentioned in an article that I read that it was not unusual to add the numerical suffix to children named after their grandfathers. (See Explanation below) D. Glenn
- William Orcutt son of Andrew is probably called Junior because Andrew was the son of William the 1st. This was a common practice used to differentiate between family members with the same name. They didn't always have to be father and son.
