William Peter

WILLIAM PETER (OTHERWISE WILLIAM PETERS)

is the son of Thomas Peter (Otherwise Thomas Peters), and his wife, Janet Frew. He was born before 6 August 1732, the date upon which his baptism was registered at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, Scotland. His baptismal record reads as follows: "Thomas Peters & Janet Frew a lawfull son William witt: John & David Peters" The witnesses may be cousins of Thomas Peter, the child's father, that is John Peter and David Peter, sons of John Peter and Beatrix Peter [Registrar General for Scotland, New Register House, Edinburgh, Glasgow Baptisms, 1728-39, reference OPR.644/11].
