"I learned last night that my Uncle Bill (William I. Rogers, eldest son of Harry and Emma) passed away around 9:30 p.m. According to a couple of emails I received, he had been doing well up until recently then became ill rather suddently. He had not eaten in a few days, kidneys began to fail, then eventually became unconscious and slipped away. Bill's funeral will be held on Wednesday March 11 at Arthur Wright funeral home11 a.m. in Seattle. Address is 520 W Ray Seattle on Queen Anne Hilll.

William Irwin (Bill) Rogers

William Irwin (Bill) ROGERS William Irwin Rogers passed away Sunday March 8, 2009. He was 92 years old. Bill was a lifelong resident of Seattle, having attended Lowell Elementary School, Broadway High School, and graduated from the University of Washington Bill was a lifelong fan of the Washington Huskies with season tickets for Football for many years. He was the 2nd oldest of 9 children born to Harold and Emma Rogers, a pioneer Seattle Family with 7 generations residing in the Seattle area. Bill was active in the Seattle Jewish community being a lifelong member of Temple De Hirsch Sinai, a past President of the Temple Brotherhood, and a past president of B'Nai Brith, Bill was a Navy Veteran of World War 2. In college he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity Bill was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann. He is survived by his daughters Esther Puterbach and Joni Kutok; step-son, Dave Johnson; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
