William was born about 1725, the son of James Sammon II and Phyllis (Mason?) Sammons Ivey.[1]

m 1st Rebecca Avey (who was probably a relative of his mother) (William's widowed mother married neighbor Henry Ivey in about 1767). Rebecca died in June 1762, prob in Greenville District, SC.

m 2nd Annis (Carroll) Comer, widow of John Comer [John's will settlement says his widow was Annis Sammons [2]

In 1765 he was the executor of his father, James II's will
