About William Sanders, III - Free Settler "Victoria" 1849
Bounty ship "Victoria" arrived 2nd September 1849; (#36) William Saunders age 26, butcher, from Kenton, Devonshire, and his wife Mary Ann Saunders age 19, from Silverton, Devonshire, both can read and write.
Craig Miles: It seems reasonably well-established that William and Mary Saunders/Sanders had the following 13 children (BDM):
Elizabeth Grace Everson (born Saunders) 1850?
Harriet Frances Rowe (born Saunders) 1852
William George Saunders 1854
Frederick John Saunders 1855
Charles Henry Sanders 1858
Alfred Sivert Sanders 1861
Ernest Albert Sanders 1863
Mary Ann Sanders 1864
Walter Thomas Sanders 1867
Agnes Jane Taylor (born Sanders) 1869
Edred James Sanders 1870
Sarah Ellen Kitching (born Sanders) 1872
Christopher George Sanders 1873
Note: See the list of 13 children in William's Obituary further down this page. Just be wary of all the many MyHeritage trees that are incorrect in listing many more children and don't be tempted to add them to Geni!
BTW I removed "Blackberry" from his middle name. From the Sanders family site at https://sandersofkinchela.wordpress.com/descendants-of-william-blac... this is clearly a nickname and not his middle name!

The Macleay Chronicle (Kempsey NSW)
Wed 21 Dec 1910
Yesterday the deaths were reported of two old residents of Kinchela in the persons of Mrs. Julia Ann Rowe, at the age of 63 years, and Mr. William Sanders, at the age of 86 years. Mrs. Rowe's death was due to heart trouble, from which she had suffered for some time. She had one daughter (Mrs. H. Eggins, of Gladstone), who pre-deceased her. A brother resides in Sydney, and Mr. George Dunford, of Kinchela, is a step-brother.
Mr Sanders leaves a large family connection, and his death was due to senile decay. Both deceased were very much respected, and the deaths have cast a gloom over the township.
