William Sprague

"Sprague Families in America", by Dr. Warren Vincent Sprague, page 12. William Sprague was chosen "Surveyor of Highways" March 17, 1708. He was drowned, November 25, 1712, by the upsetting of a whale boat. 1716, April 2. Grace Sprague, widow of William Sprague, late of Duxbury, deceased, appointed guardian of Jethro, Terah, Ruth and Zerviah Sprague, minor children of said Grace Sprague. Her will dated 1748, January 13, proved April 3, 1758, mentioned sons Jethro Sprague and Terah Sprague; daughter Zerviah Chandler; "my Six Grand Children the Children of my Daughter Ruth late deced viz/ William Keen, Levi Keen, Abel Keen, Samuel Keen, Josiah Keen and Grace Cole"; granddaughters Silvine Sprague and Grace Sprague; grandson William Sprague.

William drowned when the Whaleboat he was in upset.

Surveyor of Highways in 1708. He ws drowned by the upsetting of a whale boat.

There is also a "sprague house" listed in historical listings that is in Danvers. unknown if it is from these spragues.
