About Willis Webb
Willis Webbb (29 September 1844 - 21 October 1921) was born in Chateaugay, Franklin County, New York, the oldest child of Charles Young Webb and Margaret Allen. His siblings were Jannette Martha Webb (1846 -1865), Lydia Priscilla Webb (1847 - 1850), Charles Young Webb, Jr. (1851 - 1939), James Dickerson Webb (1853 - 1927), and Joseph Webb (1855 - 1873). Later, Willis had four half-siblings from his mother's second marriage to John Glover Smith. In 1850 at the age of five, Willis accompanied his pioneer family in a Mormon wagon train to Utah Territory. The Webb family traveled with The Warren Foote Company, which departed Kanesville, Iowa (present-day Council Bluffs) 17 June 1850 and arrived in Salt Lake City 17-18 September 1850. About 540 individuals and 104 wagons were in the company when it began its journey, although there were many deaths along the way. In the Warren Foote Emigrating Company, Journal 1850 June-Sept, "Charles Y[oung] Weeb [Webb], 1 Waggon, 6 Persons, 10 Cattle, 11 Sheep" is listed as a member of the 2nd Division captained by William Madison Wall. In 1863 Willis married Beulah Ann Allen. They had four children, Beulah Ann (b. 1870, Utah Territory), Laura Elizabeth (born 1872, Utah Territory), Willis Abraham Webb (born 1874, Utah Territory), and Nancy Melissa Webb (born 1882, Utah Territory). Beulah died in 1916, after which Willis lived with their oldest son and his family. Willis Webb died 21 October 1921 and was buried in Emmett, Gem County, Idaho.
