Wilson was a successful farmer and owned and operated a farm in the Lenox, Iowa area in addition to a farm south of Bedford, Iowa which he inherited from his father.

"WILSON HENRY LONGFELLOW
Wilson Henry Longfellow, son of Henry Longfellow and Alta Nash Longfellow was born in TayIor County July 7, 1916 and departed this life April 7, 1995 at the age of 78 years.
He lived in Creston, Iowa and grew to maturity in Bedford, Iowa where he attended the public school and the Christian Church.
On May 5, 1938 he was united in marriage to Deloris Burns at Maryville, Mo. and they lived in Bedford, Lenox and Creston, Iowa.
To this union four children were born. Sharon Kay Howes, Kenneth Larry Longfellow, Jack Irwin Longfellow, and Mary Joe Simms.
He worked for the railroad, drilled wells, tiled and farmed.
He was preceded in death by parents, son Kenneth, and brother Carl.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deloris; daughters Sharon and Mary Joe, son Jack, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brother, Ivan and sister Mary. He was a kind and considerate man, whose greatest joy was to be with his children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
