Origins
Web trees invariably list the parents of the Weissangs who emigrated to Pennsylvania as Joseph Peter Weissang, b. 1640, and Rosamund Margarethe Reifschneider, b. 1659. For children born around 1720, however, this is impossible. What I think has happened is that two generations of Conrad Weissang have gotten merged together, and therefore the father of the immigrants is probably named Conrad, and the parents given are in fact *Conrad's* parents.
Evidence from son Ludwig's descendants also hint of a missing generation; they think that Ludwig was born in 1684 and lived to be 106, starting a family for the first time in his elderly years.
The person this profile represents is the "missing" Weissang, who's probably named either Conrad or Ludwig, or both.
It's also possible that the patriarch of the family, given as Peter Joseph Weissang, was really born in 1684. Other evidence may arise that clarifies this issue.
