Zaccheus W. Dusenbury, Sr. enlisted at age 41. His brother, James Elkanah Dusenbury and several of his sons also served. He was discharged by Government Appointment by order of Gen Beauregard in 1863 and appointed Assessor of War Tax for Horry District. He captained several boats for Burroughs and Collins Co. after the war.
