From Jean Bolte White's notes: 1971 March, when I visited Aunt Zita. She had written this to me before. She was 91 at the time and very active.
Zita Selz Bolte (wife of Vincent's brother Frank J. Bolte) relates "When Vincent was 3 days old his father, Benedik left for the army. When they got to Pilot Knob the war was over. When he was 17 or so he learned a Blacksmith trade. He worked for a man his name Schelp. He left in good faith to Kansas. This was told to me by my husband. Vincent's dad was a very quiet man. His wife died when she was in 40 years. Grandma Bolte had a sister married to a man named Schinsing. (Cath) Schinsing had a son looked like Vincent Bolte."
