About Rosalia Jassowitz (Zerkowitz)
Rosalia Zerkowitz, known as "Zilly”, was born in Novy Bydzov in 1795. She was the daughter of Jonathan [Jonas Mayer] Kohn-Zerkowitz and his second wife, Barbara (Graner).
PLEASE NOTE: she was not the daughter of Simon Löbl Kohn-Zerkowitz (c1754-1817) of Trebic / Brtnice, Moravia, but rather, his niece. Research undertaken in August 2021 has confirmed Jonathan as her father.
In 1850, widow Rosalia Jassovitz is seen in the Obuda census:
Household #47, Obuda, Hungary, 1850: "W. Ros. Jassovitz", age 54; son, Sim., age 32; son, Moritz, age 18; daughter, Eva, age 16; Fany Deutsch, age 24; Math. Weisz, age 25.
When she died in May 1865, "Zilly Jassovitz", age 72 [actually about 70], was residing in household #46 in Obuda.
