In the 1790 Census of Bucks County

~• there were 581 free blacks and 261 slaves while there were, on the white side: 6575 + 5947 +12037 = 24,559. Of these free blacks on the following were in independent (unique) households. I count only 52 heads of households who were of color. Who is to say how many of these were taxed as property owners c. 1790.
