Allen Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is named for former Confederate States Army general and Governor of Louisiana Henry Watkins Allen.
On the western edge of the "Cajun Prairie," Allen Parish is a diverse blend of cultures, including Southern Baptist, Catholic Cajun-French and Native American. The flat landscape is largely rural, with a scattering of small towns.
