Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, New Jersey

Atlantic View Cemetery started out as the burying ground for Ocean Hill Church, located on Church Street. The church dates back to 1842. In 1875, the Atlantic View Cemetery of Squan Village was organized and advertised plots of 20 by 16 feet. About this time an additional 10 acres were added to the burying ground from surrounding farmland.

Those involved in the cemetery's incorporation were the Rev. Elias D. Stultz, first resident pastor of the Manasquan Methodist Protestant Church, elected as president; Robert Pearce, vice president; William L. Brown, secretary and Elisha C. Errickson, treasurer.

Trustees of the association were Pitney Curtis, Robert Pearce, Andrew J. Longstreet, Nelson Taylor, William Curtis, and Joseph Wainwright. James Curtis also was present. The Rev. Stultz served as superintendent of the grounds.
