Butte County Cemetery is located at the intersection of County Center Drive and Court Street in Oroville near the county courthouse. The first recorded burial was Thomas Armstrong, who died 16 July 1862 and the last burial was Ray Scott, who died 17 July 1980. Over 1200 persons were interred during the cemetery's 118 years of operation (at time of publication in 1980). The original records for the cemetery were destroyed.
