Profiles

Located in Township 9, Range 17, Section 9, on county road 11 in Centenary, across road from Centenary Assembly of God Church, northwest of Rutledge. There are several unmarked graves. This Cemetery is very well kept. In 1922-23 it was organized by Rev.& Mrs. Samuel Knowles. The church was first named Mt. Moriah. It was located in a small wood building about 150 feet north the present church. The present church lot was, at that time, the location of the Centenary Methodist Church. In 1928 the Assembly Congregation bought the Methodist Church building. Mt Moriah was then renamed Centenary Assembly of God. The Mt. Moriah building was sold to Mr. Willie Welch. He used the material for a barn on his place. Graves has been found dating back 1899.
