Profiles

A Project to link together the projects for different Y-DNA lines being imported by members of the Clan Henderson Society.

This project is about a family group that contains people with roots directly to Scotland and some who came to America through Ulster. Most Hendersons belong to either the I or R haplogroups with a few in J, E, and G. The projects below are grouped by haplogroup.

The I-C1& I-C2 groups

"Haplogroup I dates to 23,000 Years ago, or older. The I-P215 is about 15,000 years old and began in Southern Europe. Today it is found primarily in Sardinia and the Balkins. Haplogroup I represents one of the first peoples in Europe."

The J Family Group

J-1 J-L26 J-M172
This Project Family collects information on people in the Henderson -Y-DNA Project who share a common ancestor Reviews within the past 12-24 generations identified by the SNP L26 and M172.

The R Family Groups

R-BY2868

This is the Fordell Line that every Henderson would like to link his branch of the Whole World Tree into :-)

Two projects have been started to cover this family line. The first one (R-BY2868) was started by Kevin John Henderson on 2020-01-15, but it has over 500 profiles associated with it, so it is a bit hard to find the most relevant people in it.

To overcome that problem, the head of the Henderson family project at Family Tree DNA, David E. Henderson set up a new project in February 2021. (link to come)

Both these projects collect family information on men who share a common ancestor identified by the SNP haplogroup BY2868.

R-A2-BY11999
This project collects family information on people in the Henderson DNA Project who share a common ancestor within the past 12-24 generations identified by the SNP haplogroup BY11999

R-M269
Project for R-M269 haplogroup, not specific to Clan Henderson.
R-M269 -- R-L21
Project for the R-L21 subclade of the R-M269 haplogroup, not specific to Clan Henderson.

Group R1b R-C1 BY56887
This is the largest group in Clan Henderson's DNA project and includes some lineages that reach back to the Fordell area.

Group R-IA1
Clan Henderson Family Group R-IA1- L21<DF13<,Z16529

Group R-K1
This project collects family information for DNA Family Group R-K1. At least some of these were immigrants from Ulster to New England as well as the US mid-Atlantic region.
