George Evans "(?) was born on September 14, 1795, in London, his foster father was John Evans. South Australian Register." Because of this statement, it is not 100% that he is in fact an Evans by birth. He was employed on the Thames docks as Clerk before 1837, when he, wife Elizabeth and six children were sent out to Adelaide Australia as the first clerk of customs at port Adelaide until is his demise in 1839 of a serious infection.
