The Eagle Cemetery Association was chartered in August 1866 with 2 1/2 acres of land for burials near the Eagle Iron Works. The Eagle Iron Works was started by Roland Curtain in 1810 when he erected the first forge at Curtin. He moved his residence to Bellefonte in 1821.

K. Smith, Laurence Bathurst and George H. Knisely. In 1877 Joseph Funk was president, P. W. Barnhart secretary and H. R. Curtin, treasurer. An acre of land was deeded to the Cemetery by H. Laird and Thmaszine P. Curtin in September 1920. In 1963 Frank and Bessie Fisher deeded two parcels containing over an acre of land.

There is no church or denomination associated with this cemetery. There are some early burials in the cemetery at the nearby Curtin Methodist Church. Many of the Curtin family are buried in the cemetery.
