City of Augusta Website

This cemetery is located on Ohio Street, Augusta, Butler County, Kansas.

The cemetery used to be the "Augusta Cemetery" and at some point in the past became "Elmwood Cemetery," the same name as the other Elmwood cemetery (with the brick-sign entrance in the other picture). The two are on separate parcels of land that are adjacent to one another, the graves in the rear of one only a few dozen feet from the graves in the rear of the other. The same staff of caretakers look after both cemeteries, present day, from an office located between the rear of the two.

Each cemetery parcel has a separate entrance. This one along the 500 block of 12th Avenue. The other one in the 1000 block of Ohio St. Two adjacent cemetery parcels with the same name and under the same governing body. Elmwood Cemetery.
