Evergreen Cemetery was established in 1842 on grounds west of the city donated by Milo Jones of Jones Dairy. On January 24, 1863, Evergreen Cemetery association was perfected and a Mr. Jesse Dodge was the first president of the association. Land continued to be purchased at various times and at current the Evergreen Cemetery Association owns about 25 acres that are beautifully laid out and planted with flowers and trees. This cemetery includes a Veterans War Memorial, A Soldiers Monument and an original Queen Anne Cemetery/Sexton Cottage listed on Wisconsin's register of historical markers. There are some beautiful examples of markers, monuments, Tombs and mausoleums.
