The Fergus Falls State Hospital Cemetery is located in Fergus Falls, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. The cemetery is the property of the State of Minnesota, which maintains it.
The first burial was done in August 1890 and the last one in September of 1968. All of the burials were patients at the Hospital. Records show a total of 3196 burials. Many of the graves are unmarked. If there is no picture on the FindAGrave Memorial, there is probably no marker. There were about 60 markers placed by family or friends of patients either at the time of their death or in later years. Since 2014 about 1000 more markers have been placed with funding provided by the State of Minnesota.
The Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul, has a lot of the old hospital records, including commitment papers for most of the patients buried in the cemetery.
