Hayesville First United Methodist Church is located in downtown Hayesville. At the cemetery located just outside town is where the first house was built for this church family. The original church building was erected in 1838 and another was built on the same site in 1882. The present building located on Hiawassee Street in Hayesville was completed in 1943. The stone which was used to construct this beautiful church was native stone collected from the surrounding area by members of the church.
The cemetery is located just outside Hayesville's downtown on US 69 just north of the intersection with US 64.
