Graceland Cemetery, Cameron, Missouri

Graceland Cemetery, located in Cameron, Clinton County, Missouri, was started by Herbert Marvin "Bert" Packard. In 1911, he purchased 40 acres of orchard land across the road (which is now Evergreen St. aka BB Hwy.) south from Packard and Evergreen Cemeteries. At that time, he laid out 11 acres which became Graceland Cemetery. Lots were sold at that time for $50.00 with $25.00 of that being for the care bond. The first burial in Graceland Cemetery is believed to have been an Annie Catherine Corn, aged 71 yrs, who was buried on September 9, 1911. This cemetery has predominately upright headstones. Graceland Cemetery is now owned and maintained by the City of Cameron.
Note: A separate cemetery Graceland Memorial Cemetery, with flat markers, lies just south of Graceland Cemetery, and was opened in 1961.
