

The ship was built in Harburg shipyard, at the time based Renk, they used oak that came from Broekel in Celle. The ship was commissioned by the founder of the Hermannsburg Mission, Louis Harms, who had been actively supported by the Harburg harbor master Stürye. Among other things, Stürye established contact with the shipyard. The Hamburg-based merchant Nagel also made a special contribution to the construction of the ship.
