Ivory Cemetery is located in the township of Carroll, Frewsburg, Chautauqua, New York.

"The Ivory cemetery had its start as two small adjoining private cemeteries which were started in 1879 and 1881, respectively. In the first case, eight men from the area: Henry Scott, John Warn, Charles Warn, Solomon Long,
Charles Wasberg, Andrew Lawson, and Andrew Sandberg -- bought land from Geo. W. Fenton Jr., which they devided into sixty- four five grave lots. (The latter seven men were Swedish immigrants.) Then two other men, J. Milton
Cowan and Armon Lee bought another piece of land of the same size from G.W. Fenton Jr., and handled it the same way. Both sets of owners proceeded to sell lots to individuals who were free to care for and use as they saw fit. The cemetery was variously called the Fenton Cemetery and the Pope Hollow Cemetery. When a post -office was set up in the community about 1898, the area and the cemetery took on the new name, Ivory.
By the early 1910’s it was apparent to many that the private cemetery arrangement was not working satisfactorily. A committee formed which obtained Quit Claims from the original owners, or their heirs, and organized the Ivory Cemetery Association, in 1914. The organization elected officers, who arranged for grave digging, lawn mowing, and general upkeep. As of 1983, the cemetery has not been incorporated.

In the 1960’s, the Association received two gifts of adjacent property, from Wallace Fenton and Mrs. Gladys Warn."
