There are actually three cemeteries in Schuylkill Haven that adjoin each other: Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery (AKA Union Cemetery), Jerusalem Cemetery and Mount Nebo Cemetery.
Jerusalem Cemetery is a separate from Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery and the two are very often easily confused with one another, but they are incorporated and maintained separately. The boundary between the two cemeteries is not always easy to determine especially since there are no fences or noticeable gaps between the two cemeteries.
There are two sections to Jerusalem Cemetery. The oldest section (in the southeast corner of the cemetery complex) is fairly small and consists of mostly marble tombstones dating from the early to late 1800's. Tombstones immediately adjoining in the Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery are mostly granite tombstones dating from the 1900's. The second section (in the eastern portion of the cemetery complex) was established in 1883. A row of very large trees is the boundary with Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery.
