This project is for the Knowles family of the Bahamas. Our goal is to connect and learn more about our Knowles ancestors, how they arrived in the Bahamas, how they married into other families, and how they have spread throughout the Bahamas and beyond today.

Notable Profiles

The vast majority Bahamian Knowles family members descend from James Knowles, Sr. (c. 1723 - 1806). He is a good starting point if you are trying to figure out how you connect in. We have more than 500 of his descendants added to our Geni tree so far.
It has been stated in both Bahamian and American media that Beyonce and Solange Knowles are Bahamian-Americans through their father, Mathew. The exact path back to the Bahamas is not known, but it appears to be through her Knowles ancestors.
