Our ancestor, Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor - General of the Philippines had relationship to Demetria Sumulong y Lindo,a maiden from the Philippines. Felix was from Alicante, Spain whose FitzGerald roots came from the House of Nest Ferch Rhys, the Princess of Wales and Demetria was a mestiza Dumagat from the present Antipolo City, Rizal Province, The Philippines. Their relationship bore Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, known in her time as Lady Elizabeth of Mariquina who married Santiago Sauza y Delos Rios, an Otomi Indian from Jalisco, Mexico who became the gobernadorcillo and alcalde capitan of old Mariquina who was named after Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald and Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong.
