Mamre Cemetery is located on Ohio route 141 at Kitts Hill, in Lawrence County, right beside the old Kitts Hill Grange building.
The Mamre Baptist Church used to sit at the left front of the cemetery. Early graves were placed to the right of the church. Subsequent plots were allocated further to the right and along SR 141. When those were filled, they turned to the backside of the church for space for new plots. The cemetery has little room for new internments although some graves continue to be placed further over the hill.
Information from all visible grave markers has been entered here. However markers are often replaced or added at a later date. Keep in mind it is also likely that there are several unmarked graves.
Rhoda A. Gore Howard (1856 - 1894) appears to be the earliest grave.
