Profiles

Mountain View Cemetery is a record of yesterday, today and tomorrow - a sanctuary of peace and tranquility reflecting the care of our staff and the trust of the community since 1871.

In the years since its opening, Mountain View continues to watch over and care for over 50,000 souls that have gone before us, making the cemetery the guardian of those who helped to establish the Truckee Meadows. We are proud of our reputation and our record of confidence and trust.

Mountain View Cemetery is owned and operated by the Oddfellows Reno Lodge #14. Oddfellows are a non-profit organization set up to protect and care for their members and communities. They raise funds for charities both locally and nationally. Instituted in 1871 originally at the spot of 4th Street and Keystone Avenue, the cemetery is governed by a board of trustees appointed by the lodge. Mountain View Cemetery is a non-profit, non-sectarian, fraternal cemetery open for individuals of all faiths. Working with all funeral homes and cremation societies in Nevada, the cemetery currently consists of about 160 acres, with over 60 acres presently developed. Mountain View Cemetery is proud of its reputation and its record of confidence and trust by the community which it serves.
