The cemetery belonged to Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. The church organized in 1837 and was the first religious society in the area. The present building was built in 1927 according to dates in stained glass above the entrance. The congregation disbanded in about 2005 and the building now stands empty, but appears to be maintained. The newer cemetery is on the side of the building, with the original cemetery in back.
The cemetery is located on Junction N850E Rd and W 460 N Rd (E Orr Rd), Selma, Delaware County, Indiana.
