QUEENSTOWN, IRELAND TO AUCKLAND 04 NOVEMBER 1864 — 14 FEBRUARY 1865
The Ganges came to New Zealand under the Waikato Immigration Scheme of the 1860s. She became known as the death ship as of the 474 passengers onboard, 54 children and 2 adults died during the voyage mostly from bronchitis and whooping cough.
